Door County Scarecrow Festival

crowSeptember 22 through October 15, 2007 ~ Join in celebration of harvest-time with decorations, arts and crafts, contests, music, and fun. The Scarecrow Festival is going county-wide.

The Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center is sponsoring a Scarecrow Contest.

The scarecrows will be judged by the public on Saturday, September 22nd. Based on their votes, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded. Voting will start at 9am and winners will be announced at 6:30pm Saturday night.

The Scarecrows can be on display NOW – and should be ready for voting by the public by Saturday, September 22.

Door county businesses wishing to participate in the festival may do so by
  1. Contacting us - e-mail us at scarecrow@doorcountyscarecrow.com, or scarecrow@doorcountyscarecrow.com.
  2. Decorating their place of business with a scarecrow (as many as you like, really), preferably outside byt a window display is fine. See our how-to page for helpful hints on scarecrow making. It's easy and fun!
  3. (Optional, but consider the benefits) Contributing a modest sum of money. Contributors may submit their own photos and a description of their business to be placed on this site (along with a link to thier own site if applicable).
